About Us Parkfield Archers has around 50 members. We are based at Parkfield Sports and Social Club in Chapel Lane, Wimblington near March. (Click here for a map) We shoot on Tuesday and Friday evenings and Sunday mornings during the summer and inside during the winter. We still try and shoot outdoors on a Sunday morning during the winter if the weather permits. We run beginners sessions at Parkfield during the summer. These cost £30 per adult and £20 per child (To be paid as a lump sum before starting the course) If you apply to join the club you will have to join GNAS, the governing body for archery in the UK - this will cost about £40 and covers insurance and safety rules. A basic bow, arrows and all the other necessary bits will cost in the region of £150 - £200. See our Links for some suppliers. Some people come along on a Sunday morning just to shoot and have a drink afterwards, however for the more serious archer there are always competitions within the club and run by other local clubs which you can enter. Archery is a good way of getting gentle exercise - walking around looking for arrows in the grass - we all miss the target at some time or other - and we have members of all ages and from many different backgrounds. If you would like to find out more contact one of the committee members.
